Known for its laid-back residential vibes and scenic beaches, Kitsilano—or “Kits” to us locals—boasts an incredible range of dining, from MICHELIN-starred excellence to fresh, waterfront seafood. We’ve gathered a few of our favorite spots to help you eat like a local during your stay. For a deeper look at the area beyond just food, check out our complete Kitsilano Vancouver Guide.

AnnaLena – Michelin-Star Dining in Kitsilano

Often considered the crown jewel of the neighbourhood, AnnaLena has held a coveted MICHELIN star since 2022. Led by Executive Chef Mike Robbins, the experience is refined yet approachable, perfectly capturing that thoughtful West End energy we love. They offer a seasonal tasting menu that shifts with the kitchen’s creativity. Because it is a local favorite, we highly recommend booking your table well in advance to ensure you don’t miss out.

Boathouse Restaurant – Kit’s Beach

While there are several locations in the city, the Boathouse at Kitsilano is truly special for its panoramic views of English Bay. This is our go-to recommendation for guests wanting a taste of the Pacific Northwest the floor-to-ceiling windows make you feel connected to the water even while you dine. Local Tip: Visit the oyster bar or stop by for breakfast to start your beach day with a view.

LOCAL Public Eatery Kitsilano

Located just steps from the sand, LOCAL (or LPE) is the neighbourhood’s year-round living room. It’s the perfect spot to grab a craft brew they have 18 on tap and catch a game on the patio while looking out at the North Shore Mountains. We suggest trying their iconic El Caesar paired with a Crispy Chicken sandwich. If you’re heading back to the hotel later in the evening, they offer great late-night happy hours seven days a week.

Tacofino Kitsilano Dining

For a bit of Latin flair right off West 4th Avenue, Tacofino is a must. This specific location is the “Kits Burrito Bar,” and the Southern California ambiance makes it feel like summer all year long. While the tacos are excellent, we definitely recommend the burritos for a hearty post-beach meal. Keep in mind their daily food and drink happy hour runs from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM perfect for a mid-afternoon refresh.

Trattoria – Kitsilano Dining

Update: Trattoria Kitsilano has permanently closed.

Trattoria is a cozy Italian gem on West 4th that feels like a warm invitation home. It strikes that perfect balance between stylish and comfortable, serving up family-style platters, hand-tossed pizzas, and homestyle pastas. If your visit falls on a Wednesday, you’re in luck: they offer 50% off all bottles for “Wine Wednesday.” Their daily happy hour from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM is also a fantastic value for our guests.

Gobble

If you’re looking for something healthy and quick, Gobble on West 4th is the place for hearty, customizable bowls. It’s the ideal spot to grab takeout for a sunset picnic at the beach or a quick bite after exploring the neighbourhood. Just a heads-up for your planning: they are a lunch and early-afternoon destination, open from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
